An unexpected bang!

Well this is a late post for me, but as you can see from this picture I took earlier, New Zealand also celebrate Guy Fawkes night! I did not know this, so sitting in my room and hearing huge explosions, you can imagine I was a tad worried for a few seconds. Still you have all of this to come in a few hours, but the big news over here is that the prime minister (Helen Clarke) will ban them from tonight if there are 'silly incidents' reported...so lap up the picture here people, this could be the last time there are fireworks over port Nicholson (Wellington Harbour), as viewed from Queens Wharf.

Well, the title of this post does not just go with the fireworks, also the reason I was late putting this up tonight, as you remember I put up a profile on the online dating thing? Well earlier on today my pictures got 'approved' and since then there has been a steady trickle of interest, which culminated in me hosting five or six different message conversations during and after the display. I did take a short break away from the keys to pop out for the photo and atmosphere - and the funny thing was two or three of the girls that are conversing with me were in fact down there too...unfortunately, or fortunately depending on which side you look from, I did not actually bump into any of them. Still, there is always next year!

Actually the online dating conversations are just as easy to have with people in the street, as I have said before, this country is one of the most friendly I have been too, Japan being another but there is a language problem there.

So apart from flirting and watching explosions, what else did I get up to today? I sorted one interview time out, this coming Weds afternoon. I enquired about the other interview, and this will be next week. I was also contacted by another government agency this morning, who also liked my CV, and if my immigration status is suitable, they may also offer me an interview! Therefore I popped into town and bought myself a 'interview tactics' book, and tomorrow I shall digest as much as I can, and also use the tips that Pete Mangan kindly passed onto me...no they were not 'don't bother' or 'pay em!'

So in many ways the interviews and online dating are starting to resemble each other...as in I have a few on the go at once! Julia, if you are reading this then please don't think I am some sort of erm, player?, as I am sure my contributors on here will attest, that back in the UK I was possibly the furthest thing from that you could get - the fact I used the word 'player' to describe it should also give you a clue! Anyway, I would love to actually meet one or two of them, if only to save my keyboard from wearing out...as being the gentleman that I am, each reply is typed out and not copied and pasted...even if that would be easier, but so far I have only done that with job applications! Anyway, as you know, I have trouble in keeping my replies short, so this has taken up a bit of time tonight! Remember, remember the 5th of November? Well, I shall not forget it in a hurry!

Oh as the sun was shining today I also took some shots for another little film which I will be putting together and sending over to Essex Probation soon.

Right, I am off to bed now - you never know how long it will be before I have to share it!! Kidding of course! They will have to leave afterwards, as the room charge does not cover double occupancy! ;)
